Did you know that back in 1965, Oklahoma was home to a whopping 108 drive-in theaters? Today, that number has dwindled down to just a precious handful of historic screens keeping the retro magic alive.

In this episode of the Only in OK Show, we're pulling up to the legendary Winchester Drive-In in Oklahoma City! Operating since 1968, the Winchester is famous for its massive neon cowboy sign, nostalgic concession stand, and unbeatable ticket prices ($10 for adults and $5 for kids for a double feature!).

We also take a quick look at the other surviving drive-ins across the state:

Admiral Twin (Tulsa)

Chief Drive-In (Chickasha)

Teepee Drive-In (Sapulpa)

Tower Drive-In (Poteau)

(And a solemn nod to the recently closed Beacon Drive-In in Guthrie)

Whether you love the retro vibes, the fresh popcorn, or just lounging in a lawn chair under the stars, these local landmarks rely on us to keep their screens lit.

💬 We want to hear from you! What is your fondest drive-in theater memory? Is your favorite local drive-in still standing, or is it a piece of history? Let us know in the comments below! (And yes... the rumor about where the host was conceived might just be true).
